Hi! We’re the Richardson Family: Chris, Amy Sara, Caroline, and Darrin and we are the family on the farm..

The Dublin Star Farm is located in Washington County, Iowa on a little over 5 divided acres. We have a West Farm located in the Dublin area of Dutch Creek Township and an East Farm in the Washington Township. The Dublin area of Dutch Creek Township was where Chris’s family settled when they came to Iowa and that’s where he was born and raised. It is Dublin that soothes his soul, the dirt on the family farm is what heals any wound, and that Dublin family farm is where his True North is; so that’s why we chose to name our farm The Dublin Star. As it turns out, some research revealed that back in the early days of Dublin, they had a newspaper also called, The Dublin Star.

Chris was born a farmer and has farmed all his life; save the 14 years he spent on the Eastern Seaboard serving in the US Navy as an Aviation Mechanic. With a lifetime of farming and mechanical experience, Chris takes care of everything on the farm – from the dirt on up. He makes everything run, grow, and stable, and he makes the jerky! When he isn’t working at his town job, he is making sure everything is in great shape on the farm.

Amy Sara has been limited in her abilities to do many things, but what is unlimited is her creativity and desire to see that all hearts and souls on the farm are well-tended and loved.

With her attention to detail, Caroline has been an excellent manager of the farmstead. She provides budget oversight and recommendations, cares for the animals, and remembers who gets what on the daily. She encourages us all to do what we can with our time and resources and is our family’s go-to for the no-holds-barred truth.

Darrin has been our main guy for repairs, poultry wrangling, and forestry. He provides the routine care for our orchard and crops. He is also the part of the team that shares practical advice for the efficiency of our production and budget constraints. He wastes no time or resources and is such a blessing to us!
